| Good evening from David Shuler. Last evening at the Administrative Board meeting it was unanimously agreed to ask Dr. David Richardson to join us at Providence Methodist Church as our permanent Pastor. Pastor David informed me earlier this evening that he is delighted to accept the position and looks forward with gratitude to have the opportunity to serve our congregation. I believe I speak for everyone in the church that we have found a match made in heaven. Please be sure to give him and his wife a warm welcome this coming Sunday. Greetings to all at Providence!
Sending along a couple of pictures of the children on Easter morning, also a photo of the costumes worn for the skit during service and one of the six classrooms full of children. (We had a couple of classes out in the yard because there was no room, inside.)
Everyone thought the numbers would be down because of insecurity and parents not wanting their children to leave their homes. But kids really wanted to be there! They stopped counting at 1,500 children. Children are the future of this war torn land… what a joy to see them hear the word of God and pray!
85 dozen eggs were boiled and little packs prepared for each child… an egg, piece of bread, lollipop and pack of biscuits. It was a wonderful time of telling children the story of Jesus and how He died for our sins so we can be forgiven and brought into God’s kingdom.
Thank you for your gift that made all this possible.
I told the Sunday School teachers it was my home church that gave for the Easter programs … they send their thanks as well.
